Amy Rybacki

Amy Rybacki is a mixed media artist who enjoys the versatility and limitless possibilities of integrating different mediums in her art. In sculpture, politicizing the found object is a favourite past time and way to integrate humour into her work. Born and raised in Burlington, ON., Amy moved to British Columbia at the age of 18. She pursued her art career by exhibiting, and as an art advocate where she was instrumental in the foundation of Leap Visual Artists Group, and the developmental stages of an artist run center in Surrey, BC. At Kwantelen University College she developed the essential artist sensibilities in drawing, painting, and sculpture, Amy also studied fine arts at Simon Fraser University where conceptualism and polics were mode. Returning to Ontario in fall of 2001, Amy also attended York University in order to utilize the bronze foundry and started to incorporate bonze work into her portfolio. Amy currently resides in Ancaster, and is the owner/operator of the Framing & Art Centre in Hamilton.
